  1. Disabled camp: tricycle and wheelchair distribution; food distribution program

 

 

On December 12,2014 and December  28 , 2014 , 400 disabled people came to these camps for screening. Well-known sponsors Sri Naginbhai Jagada, Rajubhai Goswami, Indians for Collective Action (California), Jai jeevan Trust, and Doctor Rajnikant Mehta provided financial assistance at these camps. Also present at these events were Labor Minister of Gujarat, Sri Vijaybhai Rupani, and Petrochemical Minister of Gujarat, Sri Govindbhai Patel. The camps were held at Patel Vadi, Bhavnagar Road, Rajkot. Lunch was Provided to all those in attendance at both camps. Additionally, 200 deserving Women were each awarded a food kit worth Rs. 600, a sari, a pair of slippers, and a woolen cap. The total distributed in these camps is as follows:

  • 190 disabled people received tricycles
  • 5 disabled people received wheelchairs
  • 101 disabled people received prosthetic arms, calipers, walking sticks, and walkers
  • 200 deserving women received a food kit
  • 50 deserving women received sewing machines

 

  1. Sandals/ Slippers Distribution program.

From January to May 2014,800 pairs of sandals were distributed to students in schools run by Rajkot District Panchayat, Working-Class Families in small villages, students in schools run by Rajkot Corporation, and people living in the slums outside of the city of Rajkot.

  1. Scholarships for bright and deserving students.

35 medical students (M.B.B.S.) and engineering students were awarded a scholarship of Rs. 40,000/year for their entire degree program. This was sponsored by the the Foundation for Excellence in California, USA.

 

  1. Sari, Blanket, Chaddar, and cap distribution program.

During the wintertime this year, the following items were distributed to needy people who had nothing to protect themselves from the cold:

  • 150 Saris.
  • 100 Chaddars and blankets.
  • 250 Caps.

 

  1. Awarding Bright Students for their achievements (January 2015 – March 2015 )

 

In schools run by Rajkot Corporation and Rajkot District Panchayat, Students in Grades 1-8 who came first, second or third in their classes were each given a Sonera watch and a certificate. These awards were presented by President Sri Naginbhai Jagada of the Arpan Foundation, Secretary Prafulbhai Goswami, Members of Bharat Vikas Parisad and prominent members of Rajkot’s Society.

 

  1. Food, Biscuits and School Kits for Slum Children

Throughout the year, 5000 students and families in the the slum areas were served with food. Additionally, many of these families were given slippers; many of the children received school kits including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, erasers, math tools, and other necessary school supplies.

 

  1. Food for Widowed Women

Throughout the year, 600 Widowed Women were given food kits Rs. 600 each.

  1. Top 11 teachers in Rajkot

In the presence of many prominent members of Rajkot’s Society as well as teachers and principals from school systems across Rajkot, 11 Teachers in schools run by Rajkot Corporation, Bharat Vikas Parisad, and the Vivek Anand Youth Club.

 

  1. Watering Bowls and Birdhouses for the Sparrows.

On November 11, 2014, Bharat Vikas Parisad, the Arpan Foundation and Om Vidyalay Sponsored 1500 Watering bowls and birdhouses to be built for the sparrows. This was done in the presence of members of members of Bharat Vikas Parisad as prominent members of Rajkot’s society.

 

  1. Notebook Distribution for Students.

On the first day of school, 2000 Students across 10 schools run by Rajkot District Panchayat were given notebooks and kits(including backpacks and other school supplies) for their Student. This was sponsored by the Arpan Foundation.

 

  1. Buttermilk Distribution

During the summer of 2014,200 needy families were served with 1 liter of buttermilk for one month.

  1. Disabled Camp: tricycle/wheelchair/food kit distribution program

Dates: December 8, 2013(scanned 200 disabled people) and Dec. 15, 2013 (called back and distributed wheelchairs, tricycles, surgical shoes, and walkers) This program was spogram was sponsored by well-known Rajkot philanthropist Rajubhai Goswami and Indians for Collective Action ,CA,USA. The first phase of the camp was at shyam Vidaylay, owned by Gautambhai Patel. The Second phase was at Patelvadi on Bhavnagar Road, Rajkot Food Was served to all present at both camps. Additionally, 200 food kits worth Rs. 600 each were distributed to poor, needy womed, as well as hats, scarves, and saris.

  1. Chappal Distribution

During February and April 2013, students from Rajkot District Panchayat Schools and from Rajkot Corporation Schools, as well as porters and day laborers from small villages were given 9,000 pairs of chappals. This service is ongoing and will continue next year.

 

  1. Scholarship Distribution

Sponsored by Foundation for Excellence, CA, USA, scholarships of Rs. 30,000 per year were given to 37 students in need.

 

  1. Sari/Chaddar/Sweater/Jacket/Hat/Muffler Distribution

During the severe winter, those sleeping in the slums and on the road were given the following items:

  • 300 saris
  • 200 Solapuri Chaddar
  • 400 Woolen Sweaters
  • 300 Jackets
  • 200 Woolen hats
  • 600 Mufflers (scarves)

 

  1. School Pack Distribution

The top-ranked students in grades 1-8 in the District Panchayat School and Rajkot Municipal Corporation School were awarded with a schoolbag, letter Pack, and compass (400 students received the award). All officials of Bharat Vikas Parishad and Naginbhai jagada were present, as well as members of the Rajkot elite.

 

  1. Slum Visits

Throughout 12 different visits to the slum areas, the following were distributed:

  • 4,500 breakfast and biscuit packets
  • 4,500 chappals
  • 4,500 education kits

 

  1. Widows

300 food kits worth Rs. 600 served to widows every month for one year

      1. Camp for physically handicapped / disabled programmer for distribution of tricycle and wheel chair R.M.C. corporation hall. Rajkot On 23rd and 31st January 2016 in two stages, in all scanning held for about 300 physically handicapped. Amongst them , all those needy were distributed wheel chair , surgical foot , walker, tricycle , artificial hand-leg as needed as follows:

       

      • Tricycles 50 and wheelchairs 7.
      • Hand/leg calipers , walker sticks beneficiaries - 87

       

      1. Distribution of Sewing machines; on 31st January, towards self sufficiency, 25 needy women with knowledge of sewing, FULL THREAD SEWING MACHINES were distributed.
      2. Food grain Kit distribution: On 24th January, Kits containing the following were distributed to 160 needy mothers and sister.

      1. On 17th and 25th February 2016 in two stages , in all scanning held for total 200 physically handicapped at the camp held at Gayatri Ashram , Gadhethad , near Upleta and the following were distributed to the needy;

       

      1. Tricycles- 40, Wheel chairs – 10
      2. Hand/Leg Calipers, hand/leg Walker sticks to total beneficiaries – 69

       

      1. Distribution of educational Kit, biscuits, sleepers and meal to Kids of slum area / dwellers children app; 2000 of Narayan nagar, Raiyadhara and Atika, Rajkot served 3 times and offered meal thrice by us.
      2. Distribution of Dictionary and scholarship to 5 toppers of standard IX and S.S.C. totaling 50 students of 6 schools of RMC offering secondary and higher secondary school education.
      3. Meal to Kids and facilitation of brilliant students; Total 800 students of District Panchayat operated schools of village Dhandhni, Dhandhia and Vadali were offered meal as well as compass box kit.
      4. Blankets Distributions; From 12 to 20th December,2016, 200 blankets as well as 100 sholapuri Chorsa were distributed to warm up the poor people suffering from severe cold of winter.
      5. Scholarship of brilliant students; A sum of Rs.40,000/- each, every year (From first academic to final degree year) to 35 medical (M.B.B.S.) and degree engineering course students is being distributed by Foundation of Excellence, California, U.S.A. has offered total cooperation in this program.
      6.  Distribution pf sparrow’s nest and drinking water pots for birds in summer on 11th November at Aum Vidyalay, Anandnagar Colony, Rajkot. Total 1500 sparrow’s nest and water post distributed.

      For almost all occasions high dignitaries were present to witness our humanitarian work.

      1. 4th May Food grain distribution, worth Rs.500 to 25 needy sisters.
      2. 29th may Chappal and cap distribution to 300 needy people with butter milk distribution in hot summer for 1 month at Jay Park, near Nana Mava circle, Rajkot.
      3. 20th June – Distribution of 2000 full scape note books at 10 different centers.
      4. 27th June – Distribution of food grain kits, chappals and sarees to 100 needy sisters and mothers at Bharat vikas parisha hall.
      5. 4th July – Distribution of slippers and biscuits to the Rajkot district Panchayat schools.
      6. 10th July –Tree plantation on the eve of foundation day of Bharat vikas parishad.
      7. 28th July- Meal to 250 Kids at different slum area of Rajkot.
      8. 28th- Distribution of sweet and namkeen to 300 families belonging to slum area of Narayan nagar, Lal Bahadur Shashtri nagar and Rameshwar nagar, Rajkot.
      9. 2nd Dec – Distribution of cloths and chikki (500gm each) to 300 families in the slum area of Morbi Road and Narayan nagar, Rajkot.
      10. 16th – 1st stage of physically handicapped, Vikalang camp held at Parjiya Soni Vadi, Jamnagar by us and Jamnagar branch Bharat Vikas Parishad, total beneficiaries; 400 people.

       

      2017

      1. 1st Jan – Second stage of handicapped camp held at same place in Jamnagar Where We distributed Tricycles/wheelchairs-120 Calipers to Viklang. 205 artificial hand/leg, walking sticks and surgical shoes. Also 100 Kits of food grains to 100 very needy sisters worth Rs.500/-.
      2. 2nd Jan- Second viklang camp at Amreli, 1st stage of physically handicapped camp held at Gajera Educational / academic camps in Amreli by us and Bharat vikas parishad, Amreli br. Where we distributed 120 wheelchairs/Tricycles, calipers to Viklang – 205(Artificial hand/leg, walking sticks and surgical shoes) also food grains kit worth Rs. 500/-to very needy sisters-100.
      3. 8th Jan- Second stage of Viklang camp , same place in Amreli held and activities undertaken by us and Samutkarsh foundation where full foot, 8 artificial hand and 7 walking sticks to 54 viklang . Artificial shoes to 4, walker to 11, half foot to 54, calipers to 38, surgical foot to 5, walking sticks to 24 viklang brothers and sisters, given by us.
      4. 10th Jan- Sponsorship of brilliant students of Dhandhani primary school educational kits, food as well as distribution of ration to helpless families. Also we went same day to one very poor family whose main two mily members passed away in the accident in Khand Hadmatia and gave this family one full year ration.
      5. 18th Jan- Distribution of 10- tricycles and food grains to needy sisters at bharat vikas parishad hall.
      6. 22nd – Meal to 350 Kids of slumquartes of Narayan nagar/Atika.

       

      Total work done between 17th Dec to 7th Dec 2016 to 7th Jan 2017 by Arpan Foundation and Bharat Vikas Parishad, Anand Brach and Indian For Collective Action, California, U.S.A. During Dec 17,2016 and 7th Jan 2017 . A total of 207 tricycles to Viklang, 30 wheel chairs, 370 food kits worth Rs.500/- (Jamnagar- 100,Amreli-100 Dhandhni and Rajkot  120) 40 sewing (Jamnagar-10,Lilia Mota-20, Amreli-10) Meals for kids 1,200 at Rajkot and Dhadhni. Students Facilation-960 students at Rajkot Corporation school and District Panchayat schools. A total of 40 schools were impacted by this effort.

We are very happy to inform you all, that for my annual service, I am flying to Rajkot, India on the eighth of January in 2018. The sole purpose of this trip is to support our never-ending humanitarian work. Here are some of the things I intend to do...


1. Divyang camp at Surendranagar on the 6th and the 21st of January. We are expecting to give the following to the less fortunate.

 A. 50 tricycles to needed Divyang

 B. 250 Calipers, Jaipur foot, canes, crutches, walkers, and artificial limbs. Anything that they need will also be provided to them.

 C.100 Food kits worth Rs.500/- and blankets, because of the cold winter weather, to needy mothers and sisters.


2. Humanitarian work in Rajkot, in the Anandnagar Community Hall, where we are going to give:

   A. 200 Food kits worth Rs.500/- and blankets, because of the cold winter weather, to needy mothers and sisters.

   B. 10 sewing machines; each worth Rs.7000/- to needy sisters with the intention of allowing them to fend for themselves by gaining necessary skills.


3. Food, Biscuits, and Chiki to 3000 children in slum areas in January. We will also provide 200 blankets to needy families in the slum areas. Additionally, due to the cold winter weather, we will distribute 1000 sweaters.


4. Throughout at least 20 schools in small villages (in the districts of Panchayat and Rajkot), we will give prizes to students who have excelled and set themselves apart amongst their class. We will also donate school bags, books, pencils, and erasers to 1000 students. Additionally, we will impart 500 food kits and blankets to very poor sisters and mothers.


5. Lastly, we will donate food to 3000 children across different slum areas throughout Rajkot, and we will continue to serve food until I return to the United States.


6. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we have decided to postpone the 2nd Divyang camp at Upleta. Instead, we will host a large-scale medical camp around January 30th, where we have invited renowned doctors and will also be providing free medicine. Additionally, we will give 50 food kits worth Rs.500/- to needy mothers and sisters.


We are very thankful to everyone who has helped us both financially and in our day-to-day efforts.
